Bilateral Relation with Iraq
After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, Iraq was the first Arab country to recognize Bangladesh as an independent country on 08 July 1972. Since then, there has been a good bilateral relation. As like as Bangladesh, Iraq has also established diplomatic mission in Bangladesh in 1973. However, due to Gulf War, Bangladesh suspended her Mission activities from 2003 to 2009.
Mentionable that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited Iraq in 1974.
